Ukrainian Christmas Story
“Ukrainian Christmas Story” is an event where sound and image come together to tell a contemporary story of Christmas in Ukraine. Through Ukrainian songs, including the world-known Shchedryk, music opens a space of memory, hope, and continuity. Alongside this, the paintings of Danylo Kovach offer a visual reflection on today’s experience of Christmas — honest, and deeply human.

This event is about standing together and sharing Ukrainian traditions at a time when togetherness carries special value. It invites us to approach Christmas not only as a celebration, but as a moment of unity, resilience, and quiet warmth — where culture becomes a way of caring for one another.

The program includes a concert by Hanna Vyshnevska, featuring Ukrainian famous songs and carols, as well as a presentation of selected artworks by Danylo Kovach, offering a modern interpretation of sacred motifs and Christmas symbolism.

This event is organized by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna, Art Contact Ukraine and Kulturverein Worte und Taten. We are also grateful for the support of Innere Stadt, whose sponsorship made this cultural event possible.
